Concept & Inspiration

CYCLOPS VARIATIONS IN THE COMICS

Cyclops Glasses project is an exploration of how fictional, superhero-inspired designs can be transformed into premium, real-world accessories. The goal was to create a high-end eyewear collection inspired from one of the world most high end brands LV.

I developed three distinct variations, each representing a different side of Cyclops’ story and character evolution.

Thought Process

Experimenting on this project led me to design three different variation resembling the character from different views. Designing a product with inspiration of a character from a movie or a pop culture must meet both worlds expectations.

That’s why I decided to go for a Collector Edition, Limited Edition, and a Classic Edition.

  • Classic Edition (Red & Black – Everyday Wearable)

    designed to look like a luxury, high-end pair of sunglasses that could actually exist.

    delivers a realistic, practical take on Cyclops' eyewear, making it actually wearable while maintaining the signature red lens theme.

  • Collector’s Edition (Yellow – X-Men ‘97 Tribute)

    designed specifically for fans and collectors of superhero memorabilia.

    tailored for die-hard fans and collectors of superhero goods.

  • Limited Edition (Black & Deep Red – Villain Arc Concept)

    designed for those who prefer a bolder, edgier aesthetic while maintaining a premium, luxury feel.

    appealing to those who love accessories inspired by villain arcs.

    Execution & Approach

I experimented with studio lighting, cinematic storytelling, and animation to bring the concept to life in a luxury product setting.

  • Studio Renders – Refining Materials & Lens Realism

    The challenge was to make the red lenses appear realistic while still maintaining the signature Cyclops look.

  • Cinematic Renders – Exploring Thematic Identity

    This approach helped establish the distinct identities of each variant, giving the collection a luxury-brand campaign feel.

  • Detail-Focused Animation

    This was an experiment in motion-driven storytelling, emphasizing the luxury craftsmanship behind the concept.

  • Collector’s Appeal & Limited Edition Branding

    The Yellow Edition was positioned as a rare, collectible item, inspired by X-Men '97

    while the Black Edition was framed as an exclusive, alternate-universe concept

    This approach allowed me to market the glasses beyond just a pop-culture reference, creating something that could exist in high-end eyewear fashion.
